In our daily lives, we often come into contact with zippers, and sometimes we even worry about them. In fact, paying a little attention in our daily lives can prevent similar situations from happening:

In daily life, the biggest damage caused by zippers is when washing clothes. We may not pay attention to it and directly put clothes with zippers in the washing machine. During the washing process, due to the force on the clothes, they will constantly roll inside the washing machine, and the zipper will constantly rub or collide with the inner wall of the machine. At this time, if the zipper is not properly protected, it may cause some small parts, such as the box and plug, to get stuck in certain parts of the machine (such as the drainage hole of the washing machine). After being constantly pulled and twisted, these small parts may eventually move or fall off.

Also, when washing clothes, if there are clothes with zippers inside, try not to wash them together as many clothes will increase the contact force between the zipper and the machine wall, exacerbating the severity of friction.

Don't worry when putting on or taking off clothes in your daily life. After inserting the plug into the box, gently pull it. Pulling it too quickly may injure yourself or even pinch the clothes. If you don't stop pulling after pinching the clothes, it may cause the pull tab to break, seriously causing the zipper to slip out of the groove and damaging the slider. In the production and processing process of factories, in order to achieve certain special effects or design requirements on clothing, some processing treatments are carried out after the finished garment is made, among which the "washing" process is the most common.

During the washing process, some forces generated inside the washing machine can cause the zipper to forcefully open, and external forces such as pulling can lead to damage or detachment of the chain teeth.

Reason for damage: When the zipper is not fully closed before washing and is subjected to external force during the washing process, the teeth inside the slider are pulled by the slider. When the external force exceeds its strength, the teeth will fall off or become displaced.

At this point, the slider may also come off due to gaps caused by the detachment or displacement of the chain teeth. Friends who are engaged in these processing can pay attention that when we need to wash finished clothes, we must fully close the zipper, pull the zipper head to the top and fix it.

In addition, there are also cases where solid materials such as light stones are added to the washing machine to achieve a whitening effect on the fabric. These small stones roll back and forth during the washing process and are hard solids that can scratch the zipper components or surface treatment layer, exposing the color of the base. Therefore, at this time, the zipper head should be wrapped in cotton cloth and sewn onto the fabric or fabric for fixation.

So when we usually wash clothes, we try to pull up the zipper as much as possible and keep it closed, or wrap the zipper head and tail with cotton cloth to fix it when washing. In this way, during the washing process, the slider will not come into direct contact with the inner wall of the machine and will not constantly collide.
